What's this NaNoWriMo account for, Ms. W?
Because Novelists Need Support
By now our young novelists know, writing a novel is no joke. It is a heroic undertaking, and we need all the support we can get. Especially over a potentially novel-saving three day weekend!
WARNING: DO NOT ABANDON YOUR NOVEL THIS WEEKEND!!
Follow this link to make the most out of your ywp.nanowrimo.org account to stay inspired with Noveling Dares, Pep Talks, and Updates from Ms. Witham.
Make SURE you update your word count goal on your account (default is 30,000, and most of us aren't aiming for that, though go for it if you like!). Then keep updating your progress!

Other ways to get support as you head into a word-filled three-day weekend (PERFECT for marathon sessions to get ahead on word count!):
**Make a writing date: Arrange to meet up with fellow novelists at a cafe and experience the joy of writing in a public space, full of potential characters, fueled by caffeine and pastries.
**Make a virtual writing date: text or call a fellow novelist, set a start time for a writing session, then check in afterward to see how you did.
**Set a word challenge with a friend and see who gets there first. Give each other noveling dares.
**Go for double writing sessions or mini-marathons throughout the weekend. Experience the rush of getting AHEAD on your word count.
Remember, NOVEL BEFORE NAPPING, or whatever else you are looking forward to this weekend.
Required:
**Find your ideal reader: Ask someone in your life to commit to reading your finished novel after November is over. Ideally this person should be over 18 and able to give you some thoughtful feedback about your novel. Consider family members, friends, mentors.
